My Smart I - Smart Start   Level I: 3-4 Year olds
(2 yrs prior to Kindergarten entry)

Monday & Wednesday

Extended hours available for all classes:  8:30am-9:00; 11:30-12:30 and 3:00pm-5:30.  

 

Childhood is not a race, but a journey.

 
 A typical daily schedule is as follows:
  • Arrival - For your convenience, preschool children are assisted in getting out of their cars and taken to classrooms. 
  • Discovery Time - Children explore materials and interact with each other. Teacher works one on one with children.
  • Circle Time - Class gathers for opening time including welcoming, calendar dates, patriotic songs, and positive character connection songs. 
  • Phonemic Awareness - Learning the sounds and letter names along with blending is taught with a puppet visitor and songs. Students identify beginning, middle, ending and rhyming sounds in words. Students also practice forming and writing letters while holding pencils correctly.
  • Math - Math skills are developed and practiced using manipulatives.
  • Outside Free Play - Large muscles are exercised and social interaction is enjoyed.
  • Story Time - Well-written literature is presented which focuses on character and storyline development. Both fictional and non-fictional books are read and discussed.
  • Music and Movement - A large variety of songs, dance, musical instruments, and rhythm are enjoyed.
  • Art - Art activities often reflects the literature of the day or seasonal themes and holidays. Children explore and create their own designs with various medians. Two classical artists are spotlighted a month in level II.
  • Departure - Children are taken to the parents' car for pickup.
    1. Keepsake Quilt preserves children's drawings and artwork on their yearlong project.
    2. Christmas and Graduation Singing Programs 
    3. Registration fee reserves selected class times. 
    4. Children receive a free school tee-shirt. 
    5. Children should bring a backpack to school daily. Check their bags for their work, homework and notes from the school. Please label the backpacks with their name.
